Thr Prefrerred method is to Phone the information in to allow for immediate verbal
confirmation of leins or free of encumberances on the product


Well worth the $10.00.

Plus I'm wondering is the serial number the HIN, or the registration # of the boat.

The HIN is like the VIN of a car usually located on the back right corner of the boat. The Vessell ID number is the #'s given by the Federal government to identify the registration.

It is always a good idea to do a check for title and lein on any thing purchased used. We have run into lots of people who have iether purchased a product used from someone not knowing that money is still owed. We do a lein check on all products now and it is amazing how many are unaware.
