Thanks again JP!!!!!

Post by gonefishin »

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to share my experience dealing with JP at Lake and Trail (if this is in the wrong forum please feel free to move it...also, just sharing my experience...not trying to start any debates.).

As many of you know from some of my posts I had been looking to buy a boat for some time now and ended up purchasing a pro mag 168 from JP (used). JP gave me a quick demo when I picked up the boat and everything seemed to work fine. After using the boat for awhile I noticed that the trolling motor seemed to have issues. Sometimes it would work fine and other times the prop would not spin or would spin but would not adjust speed. I called JP and explained the situation and was not sure what to expect as the motor was used. JP said that he would call the vendor and get back to me. Within 48 hours JP had said that the vendor had not responded and said that he would just give me a new trolling motor at no cost. To save me a trip out to Perth (I live in Orleans) he met up with me after hours in the West end.

I just wanted to take a moment as I certainly appreciate it when someone takes the time to go the extra mile.

Thanks again JP!!!!

used boat checklist

Post by mikemicropterus »

:D :D Just wondering if they have a used boat checklist as this would have been caught the trolling motor issue before the boat got sold...

:D I always like to be proactive rather than being reactive

Hi Joco,

I agree...I am usually the first person to get annoyed and voice my opinion when someone gives me the run around especially after I have payed for the item. However when someone does go out of there way all they normally get is a "thanks" so I thought I would do a little more. Many people on this board have been very helpful and I certainly appreciate it when someone takes the time to post or answer a question and provide helpful info.

Hi mikemicropterus,

As I mentioned in my original post I did get a demo the day I picked the boat up and everything seemed to work fine. The problem seemed to be very intermittent.

Thanks

Just wondering why everytime there is a post involving JP, you always write something backhanded? Seems like you have a personal beef with him or something.

I have known JP for a long time now and he is always generous and willing to accomadate and help people out even if he is off work.

I will also give a big thanks to JP.

I recently picked up a new boat from Lake and Trail in Perth. I met with JP and he explained every little detail about the boat, motors, electronic's and all the other silly questions I might have had. He sure knows his product and I left there with no questions left unanswered.

Thanks again bud, great service.

P.S. Had it out on Sunday is it bad luck that the first fis caught in it was a catfish
