MERCURY RECALL

Post by JP »

There has been a Mercury Safety Bullitn out for a while now but we are still seeing people who iether didn't know or ignored the notices.

Effected engines.
Mercury 2 stroke 30 ELPTO, 30 EL, 40 ELPTO, 40 EL, 50 ELPTO, 60 ELPTO
year range 1996-2005

Mercury 4 stroke 30 ELPT, 40 ELPT, 50 ELPT and 60 ELPT
year ranges 1999-2005.

Problem

A faulty Rectifier/ Voltage regulator can burn and in many cases cause firesand damage to the electrical system. There is a very high rate of occurance and all effected models should be checked.

Contact your local Mercury dealer and give your engine serial number so that they can check if your engine is effected. If your motor falls with in the recall have the warranty work done ASAP as we have seen dozens of badly burnt units. The warranty work will be no cost to the owner and is only .5hr to complete.
