Friend of mine is looking at two boats, and even though prices are different he is asking me "best value"
I tend to lean towards boat 1, but even as i write I waiver, so then I go back to the cheaper of the two
Interested to get your thoughts

I would say that both boats are priced around where they should be. It would depend on your friends needs and wants and how much he is willing to spend. The Lund is cheaper but it looks like it comes with very few or no options. For sure its a great boat but the princecraft comes with some options that if your friend was to put them on the lund he would be paying close to what he would get already on the princecraft. For example the princecraft has a 150hp, hasthe kicker motor, lawrence graphs, trolling motor (the lund didnt have one) plus the princecraft is a double console which is much more comfortable for passengers.

Depending if he wants to setup fully for fishing then he should get the princecraft which is already all setup.

I'm a Lund fan and own one but in this case you have more options with the Princecraft as it is rigged for fishing, rod lockers, etc. I think he's asking a bit much even when you start adding up the extras.

My suggestion is that your friend take an inventory of what he wants the boat to do. If he wants a well rigged boat the Princecraft seems best. If however he wants a clear slate on which to make his own machine then perhaps the Lund is best.

Both are quality boats, just one has more bells and whistles than the other.

I agree that to get the Lund up to the Princecrafts offerings he`d be spending pretty much the same anyway.

Basically comes down to preference and willingness to spend. I personally would go for the Princecraft as she seems to be a ``plug and play`` boat.

My friend is going to take a look at both boats this weekend and go from there.
The Princecraft is loaded, but there are some extra's I am not sure would be of great use - like downriggers, and a few other things (already has a GPS/Fish Finder) - and I think he can do some of the other upgrades for less than $6000

Just wanted to provide an update on this:
After looking at countless used boats, and consitently running into:
The boat is an 05, but the motor is an 01 - sorry it easn't posted in the ad or The motor is running great, we rebuilt the lower unit a year ago

We have made the choice to go brand new - the new ride is being picked up tonight - and will hit Balsam Lake tomorrow - its sweet to get to fish in a beauty package, and not have to pay a nickel...

He got the 150 Optimax, and the boat is a 2009 - so it looks a little different than the pics
