Hi All,
Not sure if it is legal in Canada but Cabelas makes an adapter that allows you to actually refill those non-refillable/recyclable 1lb tanks from your 20 lb tank. It costs $20.
Where can i purchase one of those refill adaptors for the 1lb tanks in Canada???
Thanks

Did you try ordering it from Cabela"s ? I ordered one and received it within 2 weeks this spring. It is great for refilling small tanks for camping stoves and lanterns. It passed through customs without any problem for me. I tried to find one in Canada but couldn't locate a store that sold them.

there are some stores in Ontario that sell them around lake simcoe
and they are not illegal in Canada, but once you refill small tanks they are illegal to transport in Canada
if you take the hose and end off an old BBQ and an old soldering torch, put them together and you can fill small tanks from big tanks

Yes received mine from Cabela's a few months ago.
Follow the instructions about cooling the small tank first then flipping the big tank upside down prior to opening the valves to fill.
Weird instructions, but it seems to work.

are there any places in or around toronto that sells these?
I am going down to the center of the universe for the remainder of the week and would like to pick one up.
Ordering from Cabelas adds $25.00 shipping to a $10 item...
