Bob,
When I am not fishing, I am sailing and the only lasting "canvas" material that seem to be used on sailboats is Sunbrella - the sail cover on my boat has been exposed to the weather from Apr - Nov for the past 8 years and is in excellent shape:
http://www.sunbrella.com/na/on_the_water.php
According the the company's website, it is available locally at:
House of Canvas Products
3 Cleopatra Drive
Nepean, ON K2G 3M9
Canada
613-723-0056
jconroy@houseofcanvas.com
If you are a do-it-yourself'er, you can sew it with a heavy duty sewing machine and can purchase stainless steel fittings and tubing from the Chandlery.
Cheers,
Colin

Bob,
I purchased a top 3 years ago from GMI Canada located Quebec
http://www.gmitopdesign.com. Installed it in a couple of hours. Well made , was delivered within the week of ordering . I upgraded to the metal connectors, added durability. Convinced my brother in law to purchase one for his boat. gets you out of the sun and helps when it rains.PM if you have questions
