Hey Hawkers,

Been doing some small repairs to my boat this week and could use some help!

I need a 3ft 'U' shaped peice of aluminium for the transom of my tinny. The old part has split in half and I would prefer to have a new piece made rather than weld together the two ends. It's not tubing but more of a aluminium channel.

Anyone know where I can get this done?

Here is the old part.

Thanks in advance - Andrew

Any metal fabricator could bend one up for you look for one that does stainless and alunimum work for the food industry.

you might find a suitable piece of channel or angle either would work at a scrap yard.

mostmetal dealers like Crawford would have a minimum order

I've had lots of stuff made at Loucon metal at 37 Grenfell near Slack and Merivale in Nepean. All you have to do is bring them the dimensions of what you want and they will supply the metal and bend it .
