Battery post corrosion prevention
Going to replace my deep cycles soon in the boat. What product would you guys recommend to treat the posts for corrosion prevention?

Re: Battery post corrosion prevention
It might sound like witchcraft of Voodoo... but those little felt washer type things have worked for me. The proof is staring me in the face every time I go out fishing. The one that has them is A1. The one that does not... not so good. I have to clean it frequently.Mike M wrote:Going to replace my deep cycles soon in the boat. I bought them only for the green and red colours... so I could easily differentiate neg and pos posts. Turns out they do what they are advertised to do... for me at least.
On my car battery, dielectric grease.

I usually put on dielectric grease also.

It looks like a gimmick to me... something Ronco or K-Tel would sell in an infomercial featuring Rod Stewarts key boardist from Gasoline Alley or Raymond Burr's brother Allen...Cyber wrote:Don't know why you're embarassed suggesting them??![]()
They've worked great for me too!!!![]()
But... sigh... I think they work! At least I am not the only nut!
I just don't want a bunch of people saying I am nuts because of that... when there are so many other things worthy of that attachment!

corrosion
I have had the problem before but only when my battery was going bad. When i replaced the battery the problem was gone. I had tried vaseline, dielectric grease to no avail. That was 8 years ago and no problems.
