x67 sonar

Post by tbone1088 »

Hi guys,
I bought a x67 at christmas time and am very fond of the unit and what it can do. The transducer arm that comes with it though is very cumbersome and akward. I seen vids of the humminbird model, and it looks like there model has a floatie on the cable that allows the transducer to float and remain at the top of the hole. Anyone know if I can buy one to put on the x67? Or how I could make one?

Just buy a piece of foam pipe insulation , that should do it.

Cut a piece of pool noodle and use some duct tape. Works.

I'll second the piece of pool noodle but secure with 3 large electrical pull ties.
Tighten enough that the wire will slide if pulled but hold it's place when not being pulled on.

If you dont want to use a pool noodle go to Club Piscine and purchase a anti drain freezing isolation the ones for the pool pipe 3'' ( It's a fome tube the same size as the ones on flashers and already comes pre-split in the middle to place your sonar cord in it) 8)
