Hi guys,
I was just looking for some advice on how to help protect my boat from theft while it's on my trailer. I know the most determined thieves can not be stopped, but hopefully making it a little more challanging will make them move on to the next guys boat...
Cheers,

My boat pretty much stays in my garage so I dont worry about it so much. If they cant see it, they can't steal it.
My Father in law used to run some sort of lock through his axles which was basically a coated large steal caple as well as a keyed lock that goes into tongue of the trailer where the ball would usually go. If they can't hook up to it, it is pretty hard to steal.

I also keep mine the garage, if i can't i always try to make sure i'm parked in front of it, I keep the trailer locked at all times and i used to unhook all the straps holding the boat t the trailer, so in the event some Jacka$$ tried to steal it, hopefully it would fall off the trailer. I figure if I can't have well neither can they.
if you really worried you could also put a tracker in the boat

In order to keep my boat insurance valid, I have to use the Amplock system that consists of
ampbolts - fastens hitch on boat directly to tongue- (

a lock that goes through the hitch when fastened onto the vehicle ball,

a lock that covers the trailer hitch receptacle when not in use (

a lock where the vehicle hitch fastens onto the vehicle. (

I also parked right along side of house and have vehicles around front, and side. If someone decides to target my boat, they would have to put out a real effort including bring a torch to cut things off etc.
I bought these items at Attache- remorque Gatineau. They are expensive but are high quality!! All locks are registered and unless you bring in the lock card signed by you they will not issue keys.. Just an idea...
Also because I am retired, I am either around the house, or using my boat. Any noise heard and they would be greeted with a Louisville...
