scugogs on fire

Post by teppy »

Was out monday morning on scugog, went to one of my traditional spots with no luck. Moved and come across a new growth weed bed of milfoil/coontail and bam...hooks me a walleye. 3 and a half hours later I had caught 25 walleye by far the best day I`ve had out there yet!!The 3 biggest fish were a 26.2"er a 25 "er and a whopping 31" scugog walleye.weighed her in at 10.3lbs :D ,snapped a quick photo of her on a disposable and let her go. 23 were caught on a spinnerbait and 2 on an x-rap. You could actually see these fish come right out of the weeds and hammer the bait. And if you missed them the first time I would throw it right back and slow roll the bait and bam they would hit it again.Chartruese and white was the color of the spinner bait and it is made by spro.

Awesome 8) !- walleye on a spinnerbait - who'da thunk it
There are few problems in life which can not be solved with a well-placed, high-explosive projectile.

Nice report Teppy, and nice walleye. Scugog, is that on the Trent Servern waterway?

Great report Teppy. Sounds like Scugog could give the BOQ a run for the money.

Nice job! I've heard that the numbers are way down on Rice, so you doing that well on Scugog is suprising!

Walleye on a spinner bait, wow. I'd love to see a pic of that 10 pounder!

On fire is right Teppy  :D :D. Great Report. 31 inches/10lbs...what a cow.
I can't believe how many fish have been caught in the last month on the bog. Some times they just seem to hit anything you throw at them. I've heard several reports of 20+ fish a day but not anything that big. It is good to hear that the bigs ones are around too representing several year classes.
With the amount of fish on this lake the Muskie must be fattening up pretty good.
Any Muskie action on the x-rap or spinners?

The funny thing is I never seen a muskie...not even a follow. The next closest walleye I caught was 7.01 lbs a few years back near the nonquon. That was on a spinnerbait too! Walleye love spinnerbaits too for those that sound surprized.I have caught them on rice, quinte (I have a great august spot if someone wants too meet me there)scugog, stoney, sturgeon and so on. Scugog is part of the trent and it is 20 min north of oshawa and the town of port perry is at lakeside. When spinerrbaiting for walleye I prefer a solid white skirt with silver or gold blades.Hey Hoss its hard to believe how many fish are in this lake eh!!! And my ice fishing season wasn`t nearly as productive as the years gone by.My partner was out the day before in a totally differant part of the lake and he said he caught over 20 as well!! Wow what a lake!! It still does stump me sometimes!!!
