Trout fishing in eastern ontario

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Trout fishing in eastern ontario

Post by Auger »

Folks,

I have a buddy looking for lakes and rivers that have trout in them. Species, speckle, rainbow, brooke, brown and lake trout.

He does not have a boat, can fish from shore.

He is getting tired of catching bass, and northerns.

thanks

I did,

but this forum also states: Fishing Talk

Just checked again and yes, I did ask for locations, so this forum should apply as well.

Thanks again

I haven't fished it in a couple of years but I used to ice fish Palmerston lake at Ompah with my dad and we would always catch at least one laker an outing. It's a nice trip up there and the lake is deep and cold with crystal clear water. There are also some smaller trout lakes on the way up there that are not easily accessed.

There are alot of lakes rivers and streams in Eastern Ontario with trout. :D :D My suggestion would be to go the the nearest MNR office (we have one in here in Kemptville) and get a list of the trout stocking in Eastern Ontario over the past number of years. From there it is simply a case of getting a map and travelling to those spots nearest to your friend.

PS: Variety is the spice of life so tell your friend to never get tired of catching bass and northerns. We are fortunate to have such a great fishery in our part of the world.
