What about you?

What about you?

Post by Lucky4 »

This is it! Another calendar year is ending and I am already looking forward for the new open water season, just a few months ahead of us…

Before to jump in 2006, here is a look back at 2005, with some of my fishing season highlights:

• Joined Fish-Hawk.com and could meet a bunch of very interesting, passionate, and knowledgeable anglers;
• Caught over 20 different fish species, including 3 new ones (gar pike, bluegill, and pumpkinseed), and started bass fishing;
• Caught 5 personal best (musky, thanks to FishHawk, chinook salmon, thanks to Big-O, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, and walleye);
• Over 800 fish caught in my boat this year, with a catch and release rate over 90%;
• 35% of my fishing time spent musky fishing, for only 3 muskies caught and released (1st won round 2 of the Idol contest, 2nd lost final round, 3rd is my new PB).

A few goals for 2006:

• Catch my first ever tarpon;
• Improve my musky fishing skills and catch a 50”;
• Meet more knowledgeable fishermen and exchange information or even trade fish (musky against steelhead, sturgeon against brown trout, Atlantic shad against brook trout, etc.).

What are YOUR resolutions for the coming year?

Excellent fishing in 2006 everyone!
Lucky4

Lucky4.......I'm in AWE.

What a fabulous collection of fishing pictures AND memories.

There are some absolute jaw droppers there; for me particularly, the huge 'lunge and walleye. Incredible!!! :shock:

My fishing '06 goals remain pretty simple, similar to last year:

1. Get in as much quality time on the water, with my family especially.

2. Nurture the kids' interest in fishing (spotlight on patience here, folks).

3. Continue to up the ante on my muskies' size -- so far, they've been
relatively small. But any musky is a good one, to me!

4. Keep on meeting Hawk Talkers, and keep up my friendships with
those I've already had the pleasure of spending time with.

W.
Thanks, Dad, for taking me fishing when I was a kid.

it's already been said but you and lil' cleo had an outstanding year!!
You guys always seem to find the fish!

I am a huge goal setter...but I often give up...but anyways here they are:

*to catch a bass over 4 lbs "lm and sm"
*to catch a pike over 30'
*to get my dad back into fishing
*to fish the fall salmon run on the ganaraska
*to catch an ottawa river brown "flyfishingcanada aka RL caught a nice one couple of years back"
*to catch a muskie of any size "dows"
*to catch a nice carp
*to try the new brookie stream I found in quebec and catch a nice one over 14'

*****My biggest goal is to attend all fish-hawk meetings I can "especially the RRUUMMMBLE" and fish with as many fish-hawkers as I can...every time I did this year I had alot of fun :wink:

happy new year :!: :!: :!:

Nice work Lucky. It was a pleasure to get out fishing with you a couple of times this year. One of those occasions was very memorable indeed!
