Lake Scugog July 8th fishing the Port Perry side

Went up to Scugog for the first time on July 8th, tried to read up on info for where to fish, went up North from Port Perry marina on the west side of the lake, only managed to catch 2 smallies in 1 lbs range and about 10 crappies and couple of sunfishes

all that from 6am to 10am

was a bit disappointed.......any pointers?

I tried fishing on live bait, worms (inc. green ones

), Rapala, Texas riged pumkin color, white color, green color both tubes and worms....

I was fishing the same area Sat evening. Caught around 6 largemouth in the 1-3lb range. It was a bit slow, caught 15 one day there earlier in the week. I usually fish the small clumps of lily pads near the shorline using purple or brown Texas rigged worms or black Senkos. Sounds like you were fising more towards the marked channel. That is usually a good walleye spot. That western shoreline gets a real pounding on the weekend being so close to Port Perry so it can be slow somtimes.

Thanx for the ifo, when I was fishing there I spoke to a fellow there he told me the same thing how he caught about 10 largies on friday that same week and nothing for the saturday.

ps. I wouldn't give up o the lake it looks like a perfect spot for bassing, will try to get there this comig weekend but in the evening.
