Im jazzed because I'm headng back to the Haliburton Forest Preserve in the 1st week of September. Got the same campsite as I had in May. I'm really looking forward to flyfishing big specks, rainbows, and even lakers. On my last visit there, I landed a 20" speck, an 18" laker, and several nice sized rainbows on the 4-wt.
Later that week, my girlfriend & I will head out to Georgian Bay for a few days of R&R. I haven't been otthat area, but I'm looking forward to great scenery and maybe some decent fishing.

Fishboy, what are the cooridinates of those Haliburton Forests? Maybe I can convince the better half for a gander up that way. I've been catching big bass and perch at Limestone Lake. It doesn't seem to matter when I go there, I have the lake to myself. Maybe it didn't get stocked this year and they all know something I don't. Also still getting good brookie action back of Calabogie. BTW, got a float tube for $25.00 at Giant Tiger on a tip from Michel at Sport Action. Now, do I dare risk my life trying it out, LOL.

Bobfly,
Just "Google" Haliburton Forest Preserve to get to their website. The place itself is just beside Kenissis Lake north of Haliburton. Part of its territory borders on the Algonquin panhandle.
I like it because it is a managed territory and they do an excellent job of ensuring quality fishing in a natural environment, sort of like the pourvoirie system in Quebec. I wish the rest of Ontario's lakes and rivers were so well cared for......
