Managed to get Friday off work so met up with my Dad, his friend and my grandfather who were spending the week at BoQ's Merland Park. They didn't have much luck all week with the 'eyes, only picking up 2 good ones (19" and 24"), but did hit an 11lb. pike and an 8lb. sheepshead.
Dad and I started Friday morning about 6:30 in Picton Bay casting outside the edges of the weedlines. Using a chartreuse Cdn. Wiggler I picked up this beauty (a PB) 27.5"/7.2lb walleye before 8 a.m. What a fighter, didn't think I was gonna get it out of the weeds- thank god for braided line.

After a 9:00 breakfast we went back out for more. Tried jigging around the corner before the ferry but not much luck, a couple small perch and one really small pickerel. Also tried casting crank baits to the weed line but didn't get much either. Wind was quite bad so was a bit of a chore getting a good drift.
Went out again at about 4:00. This time decided to stick with Picton Bay and managed to pick up these two 'eyes on perch coloured tail dancer and a rapala DT8. My Dad redeemed himself for the slow morning and afternoon, picking up 22" 'eye and I got the other one (20").

All in all a good day of fishing, certainly better than I was expecting for just one day.

Those were really nice fish and glad to hear there are some fish in Picton Bay.
