Skunked @ BOQ Oct 15-17

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Skunked @ BOQ Oct 15-17

Post by Erie-Eyes »

Hi Everyone. I just returned from fishing for 2 days @ BOQ with my brother and his friend from the Windsor area, and while the fishing was great with almost summer like weather the catching left a lot to be desired. Neverthe less we still had a lot of fun and enjoyed ourselves. Reports from others all stated fishing was tough with only a few smaller fish being caught. Water temperature was still around 60 degrees and som locals advised things were still to warm for the annual migration. I plan on returning for a couple of days at the end of the month so hopefully the weather will have cooled off by then so the " BIG Mammas " can return to BOQ.

I understand from this board that a large turnout is expected for this coming week-end so GOOD LUCK TO ALL, AND GOOD FISHING & CATCHING. BE SAFE EVERYONE.

Sorry to hear of the misfortune EE. When we met at Bits and Baits last Saturday, I hoped you would be reporting success on Wednesday evening.

Hopefully, you have better luck at the end of the month. I will be staying with Bender and a few other lads at Merlands during the last weekend in October. If you are up that way, drop by and say hello....

Good fishing,

That is really disappointing to here the fishing wasn't very good for you Erie-Eyes. I know that our antisapation on a great fishing trip doesn't always pan out the way we would like it too but just getting out is always enjoyable just the same. Hopefully those big Mammas and Pappas come in from the lake next weekend when our group will be out there trying to catch a few of those golden eyes. Thanks for the report just the same.

Hey Erie Eyes, thanks for the report and I am happy you had some fun that is all part of it ! Great way to look at it!
I will be unable to go this year with my group due to business commitments and I am really going to miss it. In the meantime I enjoy reading the reports from BOQ
I hope you can make it down there again this year!

Good luck to everyone and thanks for the reports!

TL1! I am happy you will be there to net Bender's sheepies in my absense!
lol

Troller;

If I can dodge the elbows on the way to the back of the boat (and the foot stomps when he sees it's a sheepy), I will be happy to net Bender's fish.

BOQ Skunk continuation

Erie Eyes
It was nice meeting you at the Tip of The Bay Motel, you are a good ambassador for our sport. I appreciated your effort to help. We fished the entire length of Adolphus Reach and although we marked many fish we were not able tp make any contact during three full days of fishing. We did get one to the side of the boat flat-lining about mid-night Tuesday night but it got off while I was trying to net it in the dark as my light crapped out while I was reeling it in. I wish I could get back down there when the big ones come in but I have to get some work done on my boat before winter. Good luck to those that do.

Thanks acuteangler - it was great meeting you and I can appreciate your problem in not finding fish - the weather has just been too warm. I'm planning on going back on Oct.31 - Nov.1 and this will probably be my last stay at the Tip of the Bay Motel - I understand a new condo development is to be built at this location. Hopefully it will not ruin the convience of this location for the good boat ramp and parking.
