Mercury Extended Warranty???
Mercury Extended Warranty???
Just looking for everyone's thoughts on extending warranties with new Mercury Engines. My first year is almost up and I have to decide whether or not to extend it. It's a 2007 4 Stroke 60HP engine. Is it worth the extra money?

The warranty gives you piece of mind. People never see value in them untill they use it. It is worth the investment. In the event that you go to sell your engine the fact that there is warranty remaining in it can boost your resale value by as much as 25 percent.
The nice thing with Merc is with thier extended warranty you are covered with Merc parts not aftermarket and it can be done anywhere there is a Merc dealer.

Regular warranty and extended warranty is transferable to other users. We just did a transfer on factory warranty. It cost the buyer $100 for the transfer (Mercury charge) and the same goes for the extended warranty.
All outboard companies have a transferable warranty and extended warranty. Honda, Merc, Yamaha and BRP.

It's a game and the dealers wins

Lets see the numbers of claims after 20 hrs and 200hrs that will tell you if there is an issue with that motor.
Spend the money on PROPER maintenance EACH year and good oil and gas and DON"T WORRY

They only time I would but extended watrranty is if I was not the first owner because break-in is important to these engines...
