Ottawa River

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

BA you lucky dog!

I LOVE Wendover....
I caught a sauger waiting at the docks waiting out a storm last time I was there.

The Muskies are holding very tight to the weeds in that area, you really have to troll close and cast into them to bring em out....water is still very high!

Good luck! Here's to your next Ski!

A buddy of mine and myself went out overnight last Friday on the Ottawa in Orleans. We put well over 200lbs of fish on board with 53 fish caught. We were using minnows ( until they ran out) then went to the worm. Caught a few wallys, perch, a bass, a drum, and the rest were channel cats. The largest was the biggest cat I have ever seen. She was 28 inches from the fork in the tail and tipped the scales at 22 pounds. There were 10 others between 7 and 10 pounds. Awsome night on the river with lots of shooting stars. We were hoping to land a few sturgeon but they were not around. Next Friday we go out again and mabee we'll get one.

For me the fishing in the Ottawa is great but I rarely fish for pike or muskie. I know they are there 'cause we see them on occasion crusing along the surface in the deep weed beds a few hundred feet from shore.

I've got pics but there on 35 film right now. See if I can scan 'em soon but I can't seem to post any pics on this sight. I'll get your e-mail from ya and send them that way. Your kitty cat there is huge as well but the one we had was "rounder". Don't forget to mesure from the tail split and not the whole tail. These fish are awsome fighters!

HIJACKED THREAD ALERT!!!

Leafs don't have what it takes....sorry......they need to rid themselves of Sundin. Get new players and play as a team. Then they MIGHT win!

Jason: By Habs do you mean Tampa Bay? More "Habitants" on that team then Montreal's roster....

I won a nice Amma-Bamma type lure last year by calling the Wings at the beginning of the play-off's.

I have been a true Wings fan for over 14 yrs. Never, ever wained! As a result I have seen a few Stanleys and many President cups!

This is a team that took 2 players who weren;t in the top 100 draft and turned them into stars...(Datsyuk, Zetterburg!!!)

Now we have Hossa for a year....(Cause he wants a cup!)...

The roster is STRONG for Detroit for next year.

I expect a Cinderella year!!!

GO WINGS GO!!!!

Grant Nolan here,

Jamsers, a "Cinderella year" would consist of a team that would be exceeding all expectations.

Now how can a team that just won the cup, the president trophy, didn't lose anyone significant, and signed Marian Hossa be considered a cinderella story? That's like saying the NE Patriots were just short of completing one of the most incredible Cinderella stories of all time last year when they lost their first game.

Also, it is not the President "Cup", there is no cup...it's just a trophy.

Anyways....back to fishing,

Amma-Bamma type lures are great, I have quite a few of them myself being a classic bait collector aswell as a dedicated musky angler. I really think it's one of the best glide baits ever produced.
