Civil Servants were involved in uncovering a massive bid-rigging circle by PRIVATE COMPANIES!!!!!

Their collusion adds to more of your tax $$ being spent due to unfair competition.

In Canada it's illegal.
Might be illegal but Purchasing is what i do...and what happened is VERY common

Andy we both do procurement.
It is common. Very common.

The point being that it was the Public sector who put the lights out on the poor, hardworking, honest Private sector...

Good Gravy!

You guys are easily distracted. In one post we went from turkey number to the Automatic Civil Service!

Back to the turkeys. If it wasn't for volunteers from the Ontario Federation of Hunters and Anglers there would not be turkey one in Ontario. I hope everyone has their membership.

Ummmmm.........

I think the NWTF and its chapters had more to do with it than the OFAH.
They OFAH play a big part, but you cannot, for 1 second detract from the work the NWTF chapters did or what they continue to do.

Thanks for pointing that out Jamsers ....the NWTF often is the silent partner in many conservation projects in Ontario.

I hunt turkey in Ontario - am curious - are they introduced in Quebec with the same success?

I have turkey on my mind again -got it bad- every year the same thing!! Those that hunt them likely know what I am talking about...

Cleaned off the calls, loaded up the vest, dusted off the decoys, etc etc.
The bride heard my first calls of the spring - rolled her eyes...

I know EXACTLY where your coming from......

As for the QC question... I think the birds have done a good migration and the flocks have established well. I know they were about 3 years behind in opening a season...what I mean is delays...

Apart from that not sure....

Ah yes, turkey hunting.............

You get up in the middle of the night to stumble through the woods in the dark, putting your eyes out with sharp sticks, to sit on the cold ground getting damp and chilled until dawn, when the black flies start to feast on your blood, but you can't make any movement to ease your aching butt or slap the offending blood-thirsty little critters, all in hopes of out-witting a bird with a brain the size of a pea, and generally Mister Pea-Brain outwits you............

Yeah, I bought my turkey licence a couple weeks ago too.

there was a reliable sighting of a winter flock of approx 300 birds south of Ottawa. I would say the number are looking pretty good.
