That's a really nice offer - thanks Scott!
I may just head down for some browns this spring... this thread and RJs pics from last year... got me thinking of softwater again...

No problem, I wish I could say it was a sacrifice, but we are hardly busy that time of year. LOL. I will have cottages open around the first week of April but it depends on the weather. I'm actually working on 3 winterized units now that will be ready by May 1st. They will be open year round so I will have them for this fall season on Quinte and next spring they would be available regardless of the weather in early April.
there is a GREAT article in this month's Ontario Out of Doors regarding the spring fishing for browns (the article talks about rainbows, browns, and chinook/coho).
although it's for the south shore, the idea's are the same down your way. (East end of Lake Ontario).
another way to kill the spring browns in Two Colour leadcore and a slim spoon....watermellon has outproduced orange for me lately.
the brown trout are some of the most underfished species on Lake O.
Have at 'em! just look for stained water, or water temps 2 degrees warmer than everywhere else - doesn't matter what the temp is, 32 to 34 or 40 to 42, it'll bring the fish in!
Steve, that is very nice to offer the use of the ramp etc...wow, VERY NICE...I have never tried for BROWNS, but i think this is the year to change that....do u sell tackle? i am not sure what to use for browns..
Thanks
Kevin
Really not a big deal to let you guys use the ramp in april as you'll see when you come we aren't busy at all. I do sell tackle but a lot of what you use for walleye will work. Small body baits and flutter spoons behind boards. I'm sure you have a few things that will work.
I htink I am, figuratively speaking, in the same boat as Kevin. I've never tried for brown's before but now that I have a boat I am confident in I think this will be the spring. I may also swing by there Scott when I am down that way. I think I have some gear to get me started, I think my next piece of the puzzle if figuring out a starting point once I am on the water. Needless to say, there is a lot of water to cover in that area so once I have that somewhat figured out (I think I have a couple of starting point alreafy) I will be good to go!!!
