Hit the water early this morning around 6:45 am. Was fishing with a Reed Runner with a trailer hook topped off with a white 4 inch twister. Fished along the bank till I got to two weed bed points forming a channel into a small bay off the river. That was the HOT spot! Started off by catching this nice Bass, then caught two Blue Walleye 10 minutes apart. The second one was a beast measuring 28 inches and weighing 6.8 lbs. I also missed another Walleye and a Bass. Wow! What a morning.....
Here's how much I know about Blue Walleye, I thought I read that they were extinct.

I was introduced to "blue walleye" by the one and only Daner 24yrs ago on a kick butt lake in Quebec....... .......he should be able to post some pics of a true Blue Walleye

Here you go Guys.
They are out there but not caught too often. They pray on your brain, swim in your sleep and wait for the limited few fishermen. I am one, my brother is another, so is my little buddy Alex and of course my big buddy Steve!
Hey Guy's, Cyber is right...the true Blue Walleye was from Lake Erie and has been non-existant since the 1930's...although there are places in Quebec that have some with a blue tinge to them...they are not "blue walleye" .

Daner...you can disagree all you want dude ...just because they have a blue tinge to them does mot make them blue walleye...science is what makes them blue walleye...
You can read and believe the reports all you want, but I have been catching them since 1970. And there is a difference between a yellow pickerel and a blue that I catch.
Isn't it funny how the Americans only speak of the Great Lakes, in the following article.
There are other waters in this world and certainly the governments cannot monitor them all!
Daner, do you have any pics of the blue walleye and the yellow walleye together? The articles I have read suggest that there will be a notable difference in the size of the eyes and the blue walleye eyes will be closer together.
Would be neat to see a local pic showing they both exist.
