Bay of Quinte trip - Dec 28

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Bay of Quinte trip - Dec 28

Post by i got worms »

today's journey takes us in search of the world famous quinte walters with riverdog, wacky_jig and my bro craig.

we arrived at our destination around 6am and after cautiously spudding our way out we were pleased to find 4-6" of good black ice.

after setting up it wasn't long before we were tapping into that quinte gold.

6:30-10:30am proved to be the most productive time of the day for us with 7 fish being iced.

1 more was iced in the early afternoon and the evening bite managed to shut us out.

8 eyes in total were caught with a good mix of size including a few nice eaters, a few 5-6lbers, a 10lber and the biggest of the day going to craig at a touch over 11lbs.

another handful of finicky biters managed to give us the slip.

here's a few pictorial highlights:

Looks like you guys had a great outing wish I could have made it. Also looks like you made it back in time to witness my team getting crushed on Tuesday night.

Wow even though I got skunked it still was an awesome day! I knew it wasn't good when I realized I was without the buckshot, the macho just couldn't do it! Spent a good chunk of the morning trying to bring in a beast with the clack and rap but no dice :( . Good time though!
My only question is why everbody left the ice so soon after darkness set in the whole place emptied out? Is there no night bite in Quinte?
