Hey guys, taking our annual fishcamp trip (my brother and I and 3 boys), last year we used the MNRs fish ON-line (http://www.web2.mnr.gov.on.ca/fish_onli ... er_en.html) tool searching for a good place to take fish and thought we had found a lake (was stocked the previous 4 years with specs etc.) and were skunked the entire 5 days.
We usually setup camp and hunker down and fish and camp for the week and am hoping you guys might have some suggestions on an easily accessible lake (big or small) thats out of the way away from civilization so we can set up camp and fish with success.
Our home base is North Bay and we typically like to go upwards of 1 hour north to find our spot. Everything is done on foot (snow shoes, pulling sleds)
Hoping you can help.

Have you tried Timber Lake on the 533? Would be less than an hour for you, up 63 and turn right for 10 minutes. I am thinking of camping out up there the end of Feb so let me know if you went. there are several other stocked lakes in that area that have lots of crown land, however I am not to sure on accessibility during the winter without a sled.
