No bass but.....

Lip Ripper and I decided to hit the east end of the Ottawa River near Wendover to target some largemouths. We saw a few wakes near some lillypads but were unsuccesful in catching any. Well...we decided to go to the fail safe and target pike, muskie and walleye. Muskies wern't co-operating either but we managed to get a decent walleye and a nice pike. We saw a few guys out there and they were not catching anything either. Must of been something in the air! Anyone have any luck elsewhere?

Bowzog and I were at the boat launch in Manotick, fishing off the little dock there. One guy caught a nice little walleye just as we were walking up.

Lots of rock bass nibbling, I caught a 12" smallmouth just before sunset, and then a few crappies when it got dark (8" and 9" added to my derby list). Thought we'd catch some walleye in the dark but no such luck.

Hey DV8 and Lip Ripper. It was nice to finally meet someone in Wendover that uses Fish-Hawk. Those were two nice fish. Well done guys. It was a pleasure meeting you...
Hope we'll meet this fall for some Muskie and Walleye fishing.

DV_8,

We fished the same area the 12th and 13th of this month. After taking a break from trolling, throwing spinnerbaits (white/chartruese) seem to be the ticket for taking both smallies and largemouth. Although I was throwing muskie-size spinners both my partners had scaled down and were kicking my butt. Could of just been that day but the copper blades seem to outproduce silver. Buddy took a 4lb. largemouth Quebec side just up and across from the Nation. Nothing like seeing them take it off the surface while bulging the bait. By the way, nice looking rig. Is that a Champion or Ranger. You have a full shot of her?

Topwater and i used to fish Wendover all the time...super great Launch, but if you don't get there early, the parking can be tricky.....great waters to fish.....I may have to do fall day there again....Is the mouth of the Nation still as popular as ever???

Hi guys,

Yes the mouth is as popular as ever. There were about five boats there. Most of them achored and fishing with minnows. The fish hit just before dark, they seem to turn on at that time. We're hoping to go back this fall for late season muskies and eyes. Maybe we can meet Walleye Hunter there some night (now that I know where you live you lucky dog) and he can show us some hot spots

Muskeye....about your question, it's Lip Ripper's rig. It's an 18 foot Stratos with a 150 Evinrude Intruder. It moves pretty good!
