went camping again on saturday at Murphy's Point near perth. Fished Long lake for a couple hours in the morning. Caught about twelve bass in the .5-1 lb range and also two pike. Water was crystal clear.

in the aftertoon fished the stream/river that goes from the public launch into Pike lake. Caught a few perch then bang! A huge smallmouth. My biggest one ever.

The water was too choppy in th main lake for my canoe so we went back. Since me i'm too lazy to clean fish, we let everything go.
Used a white spinnerbait and a Storm thunderstick crankbait. It rained Sunday morning, so didnt get out on the water. All in all a good day. The best fishing is yet to come this fall though!! Can't wait.

That's a BIG smallmouth. Largest I've seen in quite a while.
Congrats on the C & R.
Jigs.
P.S. Did you get around to trying the area at RVCA launch at Rideau Ferry? Some good bass directly out on that shoal near the island.
