Canada Trip

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Canada Trip

Post by pafishin »

Hello all,

I'm looking for some help. I'm looking for a lake to spend a week at with the family. We currently visit Bass Lake (love it) once a year but the wife would like to make a second trip. So anyone know any nice cottages on a quiet lake? We love the Perth and Smith Falls area. The wife would really like a swimming pool to go to why the kids and I fish. Any info would be helpful.

pafishin, where ya coming in from? I'd be happy to help you find a cottage on Long Point Bay Lake Erie if it's in range. Turkey Point, ON is a great spot. Beautiful Beach, resturant, beer store, conveince store and then it's just cottagers. Tons of great fishing too.

Feel free to get in touch with me at any time if you want to pursue this further. I'd be happy to show you around the bay too.

I'm from Pennsylvania so I would be coming up 81. I've always been afraid to put my boat on Lake Erie. I have a 17' Lowe bass boat. Does this bay get bad when it's windy? Thanks for the links, I'll check them out.

It's a protected bay so it always has a protected side....it only gets bad with a strong east wind. 12 and 14 foot boats are common on the innerbay, 17' is lots of boat.

The Great Lakes can be very dangerous bodies of water at times, but for the most part, the shore and bay fishing suffers because of this reputation. I fish from a 17.3' boat in all conditions. I've been in 10 foot waves a few times, but 90% of the time in the summer, it's calm-2 footers. And like I said, in the bay there's always a friendly spot to fish.

Markus,

Any websites of the cabins/cottages on Turkey Point. It sounds like a family place. And maybe it's time to get over the fear.
