Kinda fishing related...really!

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Doesn't effect my 9.9!

But it will be costly with those long trips splitting gas in someone elses boat. Especially commuting down to long point bay. But I won't mind at all since the Southern guys always come up to our neck of the woods! We owe them one! :D

Bear, she's right. An average of $2.19 here in Columbus today. But I also hear we have the highest price per gallon then the tri-state for some reason.

It won't affect my trips up north. But I am re-thinking what my next vehicle will be down the road. Diesel or maybe a Hy-brid SUV or Pick-up.

I siphoned all of the tank out in the fall and ran in mine and the wife's vehicles. Empty tank, 210L = $178.00 D'oh :x

It will have an effect on trips this year, without a doubt.

I don't know, maybe ask again in August. Right now I'm to go wide open and burn some cash I mean fuel! My 200 hp Otimax is awesome on fuel. I guess I'll have to make my partners chip in for gas this year .

I look at it as therapy, could be spending the money on Prozac  .

First Bass Tournament here in PA April 10th!!!!

It's only money  ,

I figure the same thing. So anxious for the soft water, I'll be making a couple Salmon trips I hope before the cost clues in

Likely stay close though for the most part :!: When you do go for Salmon, make it worth while, go for a few days

But I'm sure ther'll be some volunteers to share costs :!:

M.T. Livewell wrote:68 liter tank x $.85/ L = $57.80.
So let's say: 68 liter tank x $.74/ L = $50.32 gives $7.48 difference that's about 2 drinks at a bar.

When i left the uk prices were 86p/ L which is $1.97cdn/ L :!:
68 liter tank x $1.97/ L = $133.96cdn

Think yourselves lucky. We love to complain about gas prices and my problem is with the way they jump around so much.

We all prefer it to be cheaper but this is just a sign of things to come.

Won't make any differance to me, Ill be going any way, in fact with a few trips planed for Long point this year, and april fishing in the Niagra region looks like Old Blue with have it's work cut out , Most people when we go fishing share the expenses any way ..., you don't have to ask....they just pitch in for the fuel, running the boat costs nothing...it getting to the location to run the boat !To pull my boat down to Port Hope It Cost Me about $100.00 return (last Year)so I figure to add another $25.00 to the bill this year, ...So Guys when you go out fishing with some one....HELP out with the fuel...if you are going Local...bring the coffee

crap big0!!!!

i tow with my lumina car.

i can get to jordan harbour/queenston/bronte/etc for under 30 dollars gas, then spend another 20 MAX (its never even close to 20) in the boat, for a 50 dollar TOTAL outing.

sometimes it sucks pulling w/ a car, and boating w/ a smaller outboard (50hp), but man it makes me feel good when i read something like paying 100+ PER outing...

i dont think i'd be able to afford to go fishing.....there were days when the salmon were hitting that we went five days in a row!

i'd be living in teh poor house in no time!

Until I have a boat... doesn't really affect me. This winter's been good and people have chipped in for gas.

If I'm lucky I'll get to ride in big Ol' Blue with Big-O and chip in. Mind you that will definetely be cheaper than supporting his coffee habit all the way up to Port Hope

I just got a new Ram with a Hemi last month and she is a pig on fuel!

I haven't towed the boat yet but I think its going to be a pretty expensive summer.
Like big-o said its always nice to have someone help out with the fuel costs.

Since the price of gas went up last summer my fishing trips have been a bit closer to home.

I do not plan of fishing less due to the price of fuel. I just do not travel as far to get to the fishing spots on a regular bassis.

Special occasions I will still travel but my Saturday morning fishing will be close to home. There are plenty of ggod fishing spots within 45 minutes of Kantaa for me to fish.

gas prices

Post by Chuckles »

For now, gas prices will not affect me at all. I have a mazda protege which is awsome on gas. I don't have a boat yet, I use a canoe, I just put it on the roof of my car. Ok, I can't get to the big waters or tough waters, but for the back bays it's perfect, and sometimes that's where the best fishing is. This will however affect my desicion on when and what boat I do purchase in the future. Because there WILL be a boat in my garage. :D

Sorry to hear about that Seaweed!

1 US gallon = 3.7854118 litres

So, $2.19 / 3.7 = 59.1

( I was in the States 3 weeks ago and we filled up my buddies Honda civic @ $2.04 and a full tank was $18.00 USD )

With the exchange, The US still has cheaper gas prices :?

It drives me nuts. The Ford Anger is a bully on gas towing. It will definetly limit my trips.
