question for those with kids?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

I gotta agree with those that are suggesting the good quality gear. My 6 and 7 year old have never used the character rods. They still need a lot of practice with castinging, but for perch fishing and trolling, they do great with spinning reels.

I like the suggestion of adding a float to them.
