Clayton Lake Report (Revised 1 Feb. 2007)

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Well Spence....you can take these conservative numbers to the bank....if i did'nt catch and release in excess of 500 walleyes on Clayton last year then i never caught a one.

Big-o makes a very good point though.

Toot toot!!...that was the sound of my little horn...hope ya don't mind

Was out at Clayton for half the day yesterday. Ice is good to go for those on **foot**. Some folk are already out on the lake with their shacks and vehicles. This isn't a permission slip boys...SAFETY FIRST!!

Any action Slop? I'm hoping to get out on Wednesday for a couple hours?

Couple questions if I may,

Where abouts did you walk out from?

Do they still sell minnows out of the General store up there?

Thanks,

Jay

Big o

First off dont assume this guy i was talking about doesnt know what hes doing. you should know this before you hit the keyboard once, dont make assumptions...

Aguy who places 6th in the renegade classic knows what hes doing, he has to know paterns, and different conditions.. thats a walk in the park for him.. like i said dont assume..even though its bass and not walleye hes one of the best all aournd fishemrman ive ever met.

Slop,
500 walleye!! whoa... good story!!

Hey Jay, i walked out from the campground. As for minnows i hav'nt the foggiest idea where to get them cause i just don't use them. As far as the action goes, i caught just about everything other than pike. I did catch and release 4 walleye as well and a few the trip before.....so if i fish a little more frequently, i will be right on target for another 500+ fish year.

Spence i kept up on my stats throughout the year and yeah those numbers are exactly like i said....conservative. Do i have to work in the fishing industry, have a shiny boat and wear a sponsor jersey to have some credibility here?.....NOT!!!....been there done that, actually for about as long as you've been on the blue marble. So there

I have decided it is not worth putting my shack out on Clayton this year as we only have 4-5 weeks left before ice off so if anyone has a shack out on Clayton feel free to invite me for a fish..lol  ...Very dissapointing this year as I had big plans to pull in that 5lber that my buddy lost last year...Oh well maybe it will be around in the summer for me to catch and release.

Hmmmm,

Are u stalking me! LOL... You dont need any of those things for cradibility, but if you were there done that, youd know its a pleasure and alot of fun.
I may have a decent boat, and fish the odd tourny.. But Im still the young kid in that 12ft aluminum with 4.5hp and a big dream! I've worked hard for what I've got... No freebies, and im going to work for more... tight lines..

thats great your keep stats, it shows a conservative side to things....
