Fishboy,
Humpy and Tom Thumb are two different flies. The second one doesn't have any hackle.

size

what is a better selection of size of humpy to tye for still waters around here.Also does the same apply for nymphs as well.

D'oh! You're correct. I've used Tom Thumbs in BC and the flies are similar but different.

Troutfly,

Size is a matter of choice, but I've had lots of success with patterns under #14. One day I only fished #16 and smaller in a lake that usually produced 8" specks. I caught larger fish than I expected - up to 12". I repeated the process in some other lakes with similar results. Now it's rare that I fish local speckled trout with bigger flies.

Does anybody know of some places to find some jungle cock.
Tyer Kyle Hand has suggested starling as a possible alternative to jungle cock, so you might find that as close as your yard.
