How to avoide weed jam on electric motor prop?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

When hunting waterfowl I use a Push poll to get my boat around in the thickest mud and weeds out there.

My Boat another story. Its a deep V that dont like the thick stuff. Id be interested to see one of these Shear Magic kits in action. Im sure they work great!

I dont know what kind of motor you have but my 55 pd thrust Motorguide came with a two bladed prop that sucked. It would turn into a ball of weeds in about half a second of hitting weeds. I bought their Hydrilla-hacker blade and it was unbelievable. It is a three blade prop made out of polymer instead of nylon (more durable) and the blades are shaped differently. I am not exagerating when I say I have run it in the thickest weeds you could imagine and it comes out without a single weed on it.

I 've found that keeping the plastic trolling motor blade sharp really helps too. I just take a file to it and keep it sharp & smooth.

Going to Cabelas on Saturday and will check out the MrTwister.
