how big is that pike.?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Hey Bass Addict,

Here is a 14 pound pike on the button caught on opener.
Image

The back and jaw structure in the pic of the hanging northern Joco posted is almost twice the size.

I give it 25+ for sure. Huge fish

With Photoshop (check the resolution around the tail) it's a monster. The actual fish was probably in the 20lb range.

joco wrote:plncrzy////i've caught many in the 25-30 pound range .

this is some big pike.

not that mutch off that size to get many.. :!:

at least for this region here..

northern regions or manitoba and those place hold tons off that size here in the ottawa region..there some but not a ton.

joco.
If you want to catch LOTS of pike in this range.... go to Northern Man/SasK/Alberta.... I caught most of my 25-30 pounders at Colin Lake in the extreme Northeast Corner of Alberta through Mikisewsportfishing.com

owned and operated by the Cree first nation up there.
The camp has a shower house with hot water on demand system and a good honda generator.... Having a shower every day is nice to have :D , Best time for the X-large pike is mid-late June... during this time, the sun is up from 3AM to 11:30pm.

I could tell you MANY places to go in those prairie provinces with some AWESOME fishing.... some that are drive to. but most are fly-in. I have been to a couple fly-ins here in Ontario ... but they dont compare at all. I hate to say it guys... but if you are considering spending $$ on a fly-out trip .... spend the extra cash on a ticket to western Canada and go to Nrn SASk/Manitoba or better yet ... out of Yellowknife... for a REAL outpost fishing trip.
