Muskie Fisherman Wanted

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

From a lot of them I got conflicting answers when they were given different scenarios. For my money, I'd play it safe and get the full license.

Wow talk about getting off topic.

I do buy the sport, I don't usually keep anything but I figure spend the few extra bucks and be safe.

Back to the main topic: I do enjoy fishing for musky on the rideau. But i find I'm catching more musky when i'm fishing for bass. As Adam said they seem to love a jig and pig.

I'm well set up to fish musky, net, cradle, hook cutters, jaw spreaders. I have a quick set up to weight the fish in the cradle and get her back in quickly. Musky fishing can be mentally draining you can have long days with very little to show, so I like to keep some bass gear with me, to keep my confidence up.

I'll send a pm with my email if you want to talk some more

Here is an idea.

I fish mostly on the Mad for musky. I wouldn't say I am a PRO but I am no slouch. I have posted quite a few musky pics here over the years.

How about outing sharing? I'd love to learn more about the Rideau. That water body has NEVER been good to me.

The lower Ottawa has been so-so....upper Ottawa never a whiff.

So if people wanna get out on the Mad and will reciprocate on the other water bodies then I am a PM away.

Sorry folks, it was just an honest question!

I've purchased the conservation license since moving here from BC as I'm almost 100% C&R. In fact, I haven't kept a fish since moving here 3 years ago. Anything I would keep would be covered off by the limits associated with the conservation license.

I didn't realize this was such a grey area. I did sent a question off to the MNR last night and I'll respond back with what I hear. I apologize if this was seen as a hijack . . . was honestly just trying to figure out what was what. Oh and I do have appropriate musky gear. That doesn't mean I've been successful catching any though, LOL ;)
