Trout Fishing with RBR - Nov 4th - morning

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Trout Fishing with RBR - Nov 4th - morning

Post by Markus »

Meet up with RatherBeRigging this morning to fish the sunrise. My girls, Hailee and Spencer came along too because Mom's away today. Having the girls in tow limited our fishing locations, so we couldn't hit some of our favorite spots. The girls decided stretching out on the truck seats and snoozing was a better plan for them.

RBR brought his float reel, but after I had a couple taps on my ledger set up, he decided to go with my spare rod/reel that was set up for ledger fishing until it was day light. I warned him to watch the reel because it was only attached to the seating with the rings and not taped down.

John got a tap and was soon into a fish. It was a small bow that started off with a great airiel show. I was enjoying the show when I hear John say "Hey Mark!" I look over and he's got the rod in one hand and the reel in the other!

John holds the rod and I grab the reel and work it in. We somehow managed to land it. I had a lady from the office request a rainbow, so I asked John if he mind if we kept this one.

Once the sun popped up and fishing was prime time, we had a boat make it's way through our area and it pretty much shut down the bite. Hailee held up Johns fish for a pic.

Good fishing with ya this morning RBR. Thanks for the laughs! Lets do it again soon.

Mark,

Well, finally made it on the board!! Had a great time today with you and the girls...good thing they didn't want all the timbits :D

Yeah not many times do you have 2 guys (one on the reel and the other on the rod) fighting like mad to bring in a shaker. Good thing you jumped in to give me a hand.....that fish was spoolin me-haha

You forgot the best part was that I'm left handed and was reeling with my right hand-at least until the reel came out of the rings.

Anyway tough fishing out there with low water conditions...we need a rain for sure to push in some fresh chrome.

Thanks again and tell the girls it was great fishing with them again too.

Thanks Zort, :)

Hopefully I'll be able to add quite a few posts on downrigging in Lake O and Lake Erie. I've been known to troll both these waters throughout the year in search of salmonoids.

I figured it's about time I joined the board ...you guys seem like a really great bunch here. Actually I've fished with a few of you over the years already.

Anyway great to be hear and looking forward to posting some pics and posts!!
