How to start, well talked to my brother in-law Len Saturday night and asked him if he wanted to go ice fishing on Sunday. He said sure where do you want to go. I said two choices Big Rideau and try for some whitefish or Muskrat from some Lakers. Well here it goes Heads Big Rideau and tails Muskrat. Tails it was so I told him to be at my house around 8 no big rush it was a little cool last night it will give a chance to warm up abit. I'm up and ready to go it's 8:30 on Len give a call still sleeping. I'll be there right away 9:05 he's here lets go. Okay one stop Bits and Baits for some minnows, Bowzog sitting at the cash waiting for customers I'll take two dozen (M). Sorry for not introducing myself this morning Bowzog was a little behind time. Told him we where going to Muskrat he wished us luck. After a long drive about an hour we get there and try a point I thought might hold some fish after about 15 holes and few small perch lets try another point. So down the lake we go Len starts drilling I go to the first hole drop the Vex. nothing second hole marked a fish. Drop the jig down bang oh no OOS fish. This isn't good.

After Len drilled the rest of the holes I told him many more we'll try some where else. After about 20 minutes me nothing and Len complaining about missing fish. He trys another hole so cocky me says me and the Vex. will tell you what your missing down there. I mark two fish jig, jig bang good solid hit to my surprise out comes Mr. Walleye about 5 pounds. Len yells at me thats my fish do you have a camera. In the truck I said batteries dead

So down the hole you go I go to the truck to get new batteries and Len yells since your not using the Vex. can I try it. He walks over jig , jig look a fish is coming up bang.

A good chunky pike around 5 pounds. Len ended up with 4 Pike, 1 Walleye a few small Perch and a couple of OOS fish. So I head out and I'm trying my hardest to land a Laker and nothing. So I decided to head for some shallower water and try for some eye's. First hole jig, jig bang another OOS fish. This isn't good try the next hole jig, jig bang. Hey this has some weight to to it. Half way up starts doggin', holy crap what is this head shakes big head shakes. I get him to come up the hole can't turn him up too much slush to see what it is. A big freakin' Walleye!

Here's another shot of him. The spoon has a ruler on it 18" and it's much bigger than it.

So I didn't get a Laker but I did enjoy bring this bad boy up for a fight and she was released like all the fish we caught today to be caught again by someone else.
