Ste-Catharines the weekend of 15 april, is it too soon ?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Ste-Catharines the weekend of 15 april, is it too soon ?

Post by Shipper »

Hi,

I'm from Montréal.

Last year, Markus gave me a lot of infos about the Ontario lake. Mostly because of him, i went there 4 times. Thanks to you markus, it changed my life as a fisherman.

Last year i was there the weekend of 15 april, i think it was a bit to soon but i'm not sure. I Would like to have some advise, is it to soon, should i wait for the weekend on 29 of april ?

Where should i go ? Ste-Catharines or Grimsby ?

Thanks to you, it's my first post on your site, i hope my english is ok.

:D The water is warming up. Surface temps between 42 and 48 after the sun comes out. Over the last few weeks we have caught brown trout. Only one salmon that I have heard of. There were no salmon around on thursday. I should be out mon and tues..My records show last week of april and first few weeks of may for the hot salmon fishing. I will keep you posted. Just check reports in the great lakes section.

First run of kings are in at St. Catherines.. we boated 5 or so yesterday, and lost many more. Lots of boats on the water and all seemed to be hooking up. The fish weren't very concentrated though.
