Gar Fishing at the Outflow - Sep 15/06

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Gar Fishing at the Outflow - Sep 15/06

Post by Ladyfish »

She is back! It has been a very long summer watching everyone out there fishing while I have been stuck at work non-stop. Grabbed Salmon on his day off and told him we were fishing. Didn’t care where or for what species …. JUST GET ME OUT ON THE WATER PRETTY PLEASE! :D

He came up with a plan for the outflow and Gar. Okay I guess I asked for it. It was a cloudy day so we weren’t too sure but WOW! The schools were non-stop from 1200 until with winds changed.

Simon was popping them in the boat while I was still trying to get the hang of setting the hook.

Then I got my first one. Nice one…..then I had to pick the gar up and hold it for a pick………okay. Not so bad after all

And then it kept going!

By the time we had run out of minnows and winds had changed we had landed a few clones of 37” each.

Final count Simon 8 - Diane 5. Just awesome!

Thanks for the awesome day Simon! Where are we going next ?
