Humminbird transducer problem - help!

Post by OBD »

Hey there,

Recently installed a humminbird on the boat. Went to try it out yesterday, everything seems alright without moving, but as soon as I hit fast speed (only have a 9.9) the screen goes nuts. Also have a huge rooster tail when going high speed (transducer could be too low in the water?) I have an aluminum boat.

Any suggestion to get this problem fixed?

Thx

Nodie: Your transducer needs to be in "clean" water, ie. no bubbles etc. If you are throwing a rooster tail (hard to do with a 9.9) you have you transducer mounted too low. Raise it up until it is flush with the bottom of the hull, and make sure there are no strakes (ribs) immediatley in front of the transducer.
