This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

american shad /regulations

Post by rocklobster »

hello everyone , going for american shad 2morrow,, what exactly are the regs? i will be fishing @ the carillon damm,, do you need a quebec license or not?? my buddy was fined and his fish taken away on sunday by quebec ministry.. he does not agree and will be appealing the decision. it is an area on the ottawa river which borders both provinces ,, cant seem to find it in the ontario regs.

Such a small portion of that shoreline area is still considered Ontario. You'd be best off just buying a daily permit for Quebec waters, and you'd need one for sure if you're in a boat and keeping fish 'cause the launch on either side of the river (Carillon or Pt Fortune) is in Quebec.
