Anyone have any suggestions on removing Kick 'n Bass gooey residue from boat carpet? Top was left open while bottle lay on its side for a week between outings so stain is mostly in one area. Carpets were scotch-garded a couple of years ago but don't know how much remains.
Haven't tried anything yet before asking the board "experts".
Hi CCB,
Yup, it's me. No see since Carp show. I'm finally getting around to doing things that should have been done last fall.
I'll wait till I hear what you can find out from the head dog at KNB before going with MT's solution.
Just heard back from Ken, the inventor/mfgr. of Kick'n Bass.
He says to soak the stain in liquid laundry detergeant (Tide or Cheer)- let it sit- then hose it off. Should be good as new. Do not use dish detergeant.
Just a note to let CCB know that soaking the stain in Wisk detergent did not help too much. After soaking the spot, I scrubbed with a fairly stiff brush. It brought up the carpet grain and now it looks like a mini spiked haircut. It might have done a better job if the stain had not a whole winter to solidify. I may try to soak in Goo Gone next followed by more detergent and hot water.
Could always trade the boat in I guess (oops. just hallucinating again).
