Rio Knottable Bite Wire Tippet

Post by beachburger »

It works.

I picked up a spool of 20lb (.016 dia) at FP&F a month or so ago and used it for the first time yesterday. Was out for about 4 hours yesterday morning on the 20 ft casting platform. Caught about a dozen small pike and 3 small LMBs and only a couple of the pike did not completely inhale the fly. The tippet ended the day a little frayed just above the knot but the the rest of the tippet was fine.

The tippet length was about 6" and I tied the business end to a size 1 Mustad snap hook. I was throwing streamers of all shapes/sizes/weights and an assortment of foam surface flies. The tippet turned these flies over just fine.
