Two outings chasing the Big Eyes

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Two outings chasing the Big Eyes

Post by Badger Shark »

The last two Sat. Eric and I have headed down to basically search for the Big eyes. We definitely have found them moving in, along with some very large, smallmouths.

Last Sat was very rough out there but we stuck it out and had fun and caught some fish. I am just going to post a few pics from that day.

Nice work on doing some scouting out in the big lake Badger!

Things seem to be a bit slow early this year....with 3 walleyes over 2 days it's nice to have those smallies around to play with!..Things can only get better!

Best of luck this fall....let's hope the winds stay down on the weekends!

We actually got a few more and lost some as well. We do scout around alot of water looking. Alot of the time you dont see them on the sonar since the fish scatter due to the boat but once you hit one you should be able to find a few more but getting them to go is another story.

Those smallies were huge, only one under 4lbs the others mid 4,s and one we were sure it was five but couldnt get an acurate weight due to being tossed all over the place in the waves last week.

Some feel the Bay has turned over in the last week or so and think this is why it is slow, but should be getting better soon. Hopefully it is but either way we will cover as much water as possible until we find em!

Nice report. Good to see you scouting and it paying off for you. Boat traffic is gonna get a lot heavier as weather gets cooler.

Excellent report Don - glad to hear that you and Eric are having some success - proof that persistence pays off when chasing Ol'Marble Eyes. Were any of them getting close to double digit weights? Can't wait for my next trip on oct 21/22 - may also go again Nov.4/5 - just love this time of year.

Hey Badger,
Great news to see you are still catching some fish, gald to see the crank colours and locations have paid off for you.

Good luck again this weekend, Gordo and I will be out on the water this weekend with a group, as I am running a walleye school on Quinte to introducing a few anglers to big water techniques and equipment.

Chat soon...

We are lucky enough to recieve tips on things to try which is invaluable to people like me and Eric who only have a few years of experience fishing for eyes. It really is a good thing to charter Eye-Tracker several times and attend his info. seminars, you will learn a tonne of info of what to look for and what to use.

I can only hope to one day be half as good a Sheldon at tracking down these fish, believe me he knows his stuff.

If you want to learn charter Eye-Tracker you wont regret it.
