Any input appreciated

After finally getting the security question right, and able to log in, I have a question.

First, I'm looking to get back into fishing after a longggg hiatus. Been looking into getting a boat, but following the advice of she-who-must-be-obeyed, I don't want to invest an arm and a leg.

While I realize that Tracker is not a top-end-tinnie, I came across this ad yesterday, and was wondering if this is a decent deal.

http://ottawa.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles ... dZ93035973

I know that Tracker doesn't compare to, e.g., Lund, and this boat is a little underpowered, but it seems in good condition and has the features, size and price I've been looking for.

I was also wondering if I should be looking for a motivated seller now, or hold off until spring. Will there be a decent market for used boats or is it a sellers market, at least in the Ottawa area?

Thanks for any input.

I just went and checked my boat value book and that package is only worth $6,900 so he is definitely over priced. I work for a dealer so if you need any more info feel free to ask.Tracker is kinda middle of the road but still a pretty good package.

Some of the local dealers have non-current but brand new boats in stock. Looking at carrying a boat over the winter yet again, or at least getting some cash for it now , then storing it for a customer, I'm sure some deals could be had. From a personal point of view, although I've never bought a boat from them, I've had good dealings with Orleans Boat World.

I would be checking there.

First off hi Ed it is Myles and thanks for the nice words .You know me and obviously i am not on here to get somebody to buy from me .I guess you can't just give out info to help people without someone questioning your ethics.I am a boater and a fisherman and if I can help somebody save a couple thousand dollars why wouldn't I ??And if me helping him brings him into the store all the better because all he will get is more knowledge and help and probably a fishing buddy so to each their own.Just so you know we are in the business of selling fun !!!!

Don't be in a rush, especially this time of year. There won't be as many boats for sale so don't just settle on something because you can't find what you realy wan.
My opinion on the Tracker is I have always found them to be rather unstable and not much room or storage inside (for all except the Tundra)
Unless you come across something that is a real steal, I'd wait until the spring.
