Being a Fish-Hawk guy....

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Being a Fish-Hawk guy....

Post by RJ »

Just wanted to share this with ya's....I'm sure it's happened to you a few times...

Camping at Sharbot Lake a few weeks back...dropping the boat in the lake I walk up on the dock and two guys are fishing off the dock...I give em the proverbial..." hey Boys, how goes it?"...idle chatter about the fishing goes on for a second or two....I walk away about 5 feet and hear the one guy turn to the other and say...."hey that's one of the Fish-Hawk guys!"....I heard them and turned back...I had to laugh to myself...we talked about the site for a bit....they read it often....let's hope they read this and register...we all have something to offer... :D

Today popping into the Rideau....Ransome and I with lids on get the "hey Fish-Hawk guys"....it was Plowjock and his family out for some walleye...

Must be very rewarding for Fish-Hawk and Bobber to hear stories like that!... 8)

oh well....ransome and I had a chuckle about it....he says he gets asked about his hat all the time at work.....

We's becomin' celebrities!...

Pretty soon RJ they'll be different leagues of Hawkers out there, and they'll have different hats like

Hawker Classic

The New Hawker

Cherry Hawker

Hawker VIP

It'll be awesome, I wonder what hat I'll be allowed to purchase. Whatever one it is I bet it'll be expensive... cause it'll be made by Nike.

I better just get one now.

I got the same thing from the clerk in LeBaron Saturday - "Another Fish-Hawk guy" Unfortunately our fame and prestige (or was that notoriety...I can never remember) doesn't qualify us for a discount. Oh well...

They're coming....they're coming.

RJ and all, it's very rewarding to hear stories like these. As you know, Fishhawk and I do this just for the fun of it and because we have a passion for fishing and meeting new people. It's great to hear that the work is getting around and I can only hope that it continues to grow and we meet more and more people every day.

Thanks for telling it. That's the sort of thing that keeps me going.

Later folks.

Fishing this Saturday with MT, hawk and bobber, a gentleman and his lady launch a small craft and motor up near us. The feller says "Look at the fish-hawk hats. I read the site" Turns out its Hunting Joe and hawk says hello and introduces us.

I have had that kind of stuff happen to me on a few occasions. However, apparently I look nothing like my avatar. So, at this point, I have 2 options ...

1. update my avatar (with the extra 35lbs I have put on since that picture was taken  ) or
2. hang a walleye with some wire to my fish-hawk hat (kind of like the donkey and the carrot).

Oh, the power and influence of the Fish-Hawk hat. Before you can say Boober, the girls will be throwing underwear at us. :D :D :D

Yes this is a great place to meet good people, I was at Bob's lake this week end and lo and behold Wolfie and family showed up for a visit . What a great family, killer fisher people. :D

It was a great week for camping and just chilling out. I had a few break offs. I am using the power pro line and I am amazed at how hard it is to cut the line yet some mysterious fish :? did it three times to me.  Am I doing something wrong ?? Is there a special knot to use for this line. The break offs where clean cuts.

Hey RJ, that was me on the dock at Sharbot Lake. Actually It was Black Lake I think. Did you get a bunch of hammerhandles on the other side of the lake too? We actually caught and released some surprisingly big walleyes outta that little body of water, and one big pike. The fish there are bigger than you think, and if you get into the right pattern you can really bring up alot of fish.

I was hoping to bump into you again because I had an extra depth map of the lake I was going to give you. Nothing too detailed but it helped me get at them eyes, and I was in a rental canoe in the wind with poor boat control.

It was good to talk to you, as it is always a pleasure to run into fish hawkers on the water. And more importantly many thanks to the kind gents who run this site.

I guess we all have these stories but what I like are the people who see the hat and go..Oh! you go to that Fish-Hawk site? To which I respond, yes it's pretty good actually. Great bunch of guys and gals willing to share information, tips etc. Then they proceed to mention they couldn't be bothered, don't have the time.

Next time I'm in at work. "What did MT Livewell or Big-O mean about this or that?"...I get a kick out of that! Obviously watching, or as we say here in FH land...lurking :!:

Join the group guys! It's a great group...
