boat launch near Rapides-des-Joachims (swisha dam)?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

boat launch near Rapides-des-Joachims (swisha dam)?

Post by fenderbender »

The Swisha dam is 12 miles upstream from the Deep River launch. Anyone know if there any launches closer to the Swisha on the Ontario side?

I'm planning to hit the Deep River area tomorrow. Any good general areas other than the Swisha near Deep River?

Any help would be much appreciated.

KO Mountain River lodge 7 km west of deep river
http://www.ko-riverlodge.com/mt.htm
not sure if they offer just boat launch services

There is also Pincrest lodge http://www.pinecrestlodge.com/index.htm

Other wise you would have to launch out of quebec in the Swisha

What species are you targetting?

There is a very rough and shallow launch in Meilleur's Bay, which would work for a small aluminun or jon boat. I wouldn't go near it with a gel coat.

Other than that, as already stated, Swisha is it.

what species are you fishing for?

reason i ask is, i spent 3 summers in a row at pinecrest, right during this time of the year...

3 of the toughest fishing trips i've ever been part of...the best part was swimming in Rapides-des-Joachims.

What would a "talented" angler catch in that area?

cause it sure was tough for us!
