Skinny water & fat fish
I love this time of the year on the great lakes. There's no requirement to have a huge boat, $1000 worth of gear or the need to make long runs with the the boat to chase big salmon and trout. The big boys are in the shallows feeding on the baitfish which are enjoying he warmer water temps....and of course the rainbows are in spawning.
We got out for a quick fish after work last night and just beach launched a couple tinners...and were fishing in 30 seconds.
I'm always in search of a 20lb+ brown trout, but i welcome anything that peels out the drag on the reel. Last nights mission was more for groceries though. lol A feed of fresh fish has been on my mind all week. I found the eater I was looking for too...a beautiful cold water spring king.
Cant wait to get out again.

Love the beach shot.
20lb browns don't grow on trees haha. I'm sure you'll find one some day though. Good luck!

Right on! Was that a Lake Michigan one?
Re: Skinny water & fat fish
Yah, out of Ludington. My dad used to take us up to our Uncles there several times a year and weather permitting we spent a lot of time on the big lake.
I can remember that day like it was yesterday haha.

Beautiful King!
That Brown Trout makes me drool....hope to cross that off my list one day, I would be happy with one half that size! Have all other trout species crossed off the list but haven't been able to hook into a brown yet
