Those are some pretty sweet display reels, especially like the baitcaster. Even better if you actually use them!Tip-up wrote:Been itching to try these babies out this year...

Both reels were my grandfathers, the 301A has never been used
In all seriousness , I added some new Powell rods to the line-up from the Max and Endurance series that I'm really looking forward to trying. Models chosen are well balanced and the rod and components are very durable. I'll pick up 3 new curado's in the upcoming weeks to throw on them.
Anyone else here use a Powell rod?

Gary Dobyns was once the designer for Powell rods, although I haven't tried any i've heard nothing but good things on them.Tip-up wrote:Both reels were my grandfathers, the 301A has never been used![]()

Also if I remember correctly, Biggs used to own quite a few before making the jump to the dark side!

I used to have a couple. I had the 704c and 684cb.Tip-up wrote:Anyone else here use a Powell rod?
I really liked them. I've looking into buying a couple more but since they upped the price for rods under 7" I had to pass. Nice rods for sure though.
