What a day

, I had never fished for gar before going out with pat, and after seeing RJ's monster, I had to try it

... The morning started off slow for the pike action, a few hammer handles spotted a couple of small gar and just before changing spot's we landed a half decent pike
So off to try to find some GAAAARRRRR. It was not long before we saw them everywhere, and as Pat stated there was a little bit of cursing going on

... It was not long befoe Pat was into the BIG ONE, I was a little worried about landing the beauty for him, especially since we did not bring the cradle or net

. Pat say's "Tail it" .

I could not even get my hand 1/2 way around it, needless to say he did not like being grabbed by the tail

, so on goes the smelly rubber glove

. After gettin airborne a few times, I had another shot at it. I gabbed the beak and with one head shake, I thought it broke my wrist, as it went nut's again

. Third time's a charm, I grabbed it again, it shook me like a leaf. There was no way I was going to let go of it this time, it would have had to take my arm off... So with one hand around the beak and the other under the belly, she made it into the boat

... A couple of quick pic's, and off she went

...
This truly had to be one of the best fishing experience's I have ever had, and catching 3 my first time, was absolutely amazing

... Thank's again Pat and congrat's on the record...
