Bugs in my hole

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Taxon,

dare I venture to guess you are an avid fly fisherman? With your expansive knowledge of the insect world, one would surmise you have an edge on the trout. 8)

Walrus! hahahahaha!

That's why flyfishing was invented....
Fishboy-

Too funny. By the way, thanks for posting a link to my site. You were certainly on the right track with "fresh water shrimp, scuds, or other kinds of invertebrates that the fish eat", and would likely have come up with Daphnia, had Eric included that tidbit about size in his first post.

Your link is one of my bookmarks and it is a must for flyfishers.

Time's fun when your having flies.

Yes, I am an avid fly fisher. However, I don't have an edge on the trout. Several of my friends, who know much less about aquatic insects, are actually much better fly fishers. Aquatic entomology is just a subject which I have always found fascinating, and enjoy sharing with others.

Taxon,

Well, your knowledge sounds impressive, anyway, even if it isn't impressing the trout.

(And timely expertise, at that! Thank goodness you could help Eric with the bugs in his hole. )

Right, wolfe, thank goodness for that. One shudders to think of the consequence absent that timely tidbit.

Jebby,

Scarily enough, Kpin and I have some things in common. It's always good to laugh. We all need it now and then.

I really was worried about opening this thread. I just didnt post anything but it is good to see I was not the only one who went down that road. Sick sick minds of ours. Bugs in my hole, man that just sounds painful!

I think there is probably an ointment for that.
